LAPRA 2019 Fitness Challenge Ended April 30

From January 15 through April 30, 2019, a total of 1,926 sworn and civilian Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) employees, spread across 80 teams, embraced grit, determination, and a healthy spirit of competition as they ROCKED the 11th annual LAPRA Fitness Challenge. This year marked the greatest number of teams and participants since the challenge begain in 2007. Team members collectively shed 23,275 pounds - almost 200 pounds greater than the last year's record-breaking total. 

Prizes ranging from $1,500 to $10,000 for Division Station Funds were awarded to the top six teams that lost the greatest percentage of total team weight. Teams that didn't take one of the top prizes still earned a $500 prize toward their Division Station fund if they lost five percent or more of total team weight. Individual prizes from $750 to $3,500 were also awarded to the top five individuals who had the largest percentage weight loss during this year's event.
